The Role

The UX & Design team at Addepar shapes wealth managers’ digital experiences. By designing and delivering intuitive, easy-to-use products, we help wealth managers grow their businesses and provide best-in-class services to their clients. We take an agile, high-growth attitude and champion a client-centered work environment with a focus on constructive feedback and collaboration.

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Product Designer with expertise in information architecture and SaaS platform to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to go beyond traditional product design and contribute to the underlying frameworks that empowers our entire ecosystem. You will define our strategic blueprint for how information and workflows are presented and accessed by users. You will focus on defining the information architecture, establishing and maintaining a comprehensive library of platform-level design patterns, and ensuring the scalability and coherence of our platform that seamlessly integrates Addepar’s interconnected suite of products and 3rd-party offerings.

What You’ll Do
  • Envision and drive the evolution of our platform information architecture that streamlines workflows, enhances usability, enables discovery across Addepar’s product suite, and be flexible and adaptable to future growth.
  • Craft shared components, design patterns, standards, and guidelines that allow both first and third-parties to extend directly into our platform, unlocking new ways of working on Addepar while ensuring consistency and efficiency across the platform.
  • Champion user-centered design practices and make data-driven design decisions with both qualitative and quantitative insights. Partner closely with the user research team to define user mental models and jobs-to-be-done to shape the foundation of your design recommendations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the underlying technical architecture of our software platform and the implications of design decisions on platform performance, maintainability, and extensibility.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX researchers, other designers to ensure designs are aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Communicate design effectively to facilitate iterations and incremental enhancement delivery across many teams with design deliverables, such as diagrams, site maps, wireframes, prototypes, design specifications, presentation, etc.
  • Promote your vision and plan across the R&D organisation, working with senior leadership to build alignment across disparate teams, each maintaining separate priorities and goals, to deliver an integrated platform experience.
  • Seek out and embrace feedback from your peers and collaborators. Provide thoughtful feedback, empower, and mentor other designers on the team to do their best work.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to foster innovation within the team.
Who You Are
  • 10+ years of experience working in the field of Product Design, Information Architecture, UX Architect, Interaction Design, or similar role.
  • A portfolio showcasing strong user-centered design practices, information architecture design for large-scale systems with multiple interconnected products or services, deep technical understanding, and a high degree of design craftsmanship.
  • Experience in building SaaS platform and web UI for enterprise users.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining design systems and pattern libraries, ideally at a platform level.
  • Strong system thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion in distilling complex use cases and requirements into intuitive, scalable, and extensible design solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with expertise in painting design vision and articulating design rationales to leadership stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for patterns and consistency.
  • A self-starter and a teammate who enjoys working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Proficient in Figma and other design and prototyping tools.
  • Experience in the finance industry is not required, but a huge plus.
