CIBC is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineering Developer (Full Stack + Data) to design, build, and maintain scalable applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, and React within an enterprise Data Mesh context.

You’ll develop event-driven solutions with Azure Functions and Durable Functions, and integrate with components like Event Hub, Storage Queues, and Databricks APIs, while guiding security and API standards across teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Enterprise Data Enablement team, where you’ll play an important role in advancing our digital transformation through complex, enterprise-scale Data Mesh Platform initiatives. As a Sr. Platform Engineering Developer (Full Stack + Data), you’ll design, build, and maintain flexible, scalable solutions that improve the platform experience for our clients and teams. You’ll develop modern applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, and React, while supporting event-driven and orchestration-based solutions with Azure Functions and Durable Functions. You’ll also create and maintain integrations across enterprise platforms, including Event Hub, Storage Queues, Databricks APIs, and API gateways. Working closely with partners across technology, you’ll help design secure, reliable APIs and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our data platform. You’ll also support production readiness through troubleshooting, code reviews, and technical mentorship. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. How You’ll Succeed

• Application design and development - Design, develop, and support scalable applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, and React. Build technical solutions that are secure, reliable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Integration and platform engineering - Develop event-driven and orchestration-based solutions using Azure Functions and Durable Functions. Create and maintain integrations using Event Hub, Storage Queues, Databricks APIs, API gateways, and enterprise data integration patterns.
• API and security enablement - Design and maintain REST APIs and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications. Implement secure authentication and authorization approaches using Entra ID, OAuth, Azure Identity, and managed identities.
• Strategic technology delivery - Contribute to technical roadmaps and deliver complex initiatives that enhance existing applications and introduce new platform capabilities. Partner with stakeholders to build practical, cost-effective solutions that support business priorities.
• Technical leadership - Lead code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and help ensure delivery stays on track. Share knowledge with teammates and provide guidance that strengthens development practices across the team.
• Operational excellence - Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable fixes. Support application stability and continuous improvement through strong engineering discipline and collaboration.

Who You Are

You have strong full stack engineering experience. You bring hands‑on experience designing and developing applications with .NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, and React in a complex enterprise environment. You’re experienced in cloud‑native and event‑driven solutions. You’ve built and supported solutions using Azure Functions, Durable Functions, and integration services such as Event Hub and Storage Queues. You understand secure and scalable API design. You have experience designing REST APIs, maintaining OpenAPI specifications, and implementing secure access patterns using Entra ID, OAuth, Azure Identity, and managed identities. You’re a collaborative technical leader. You build strong relationships across teams, contribute to architectural direction, and support others through mentorship, thoughtful feedback, and shared problem‑solving. You’re digitally savvy. You stay current with evolving technologies and look for opportunities to improve how solutions are designed, delivered, and supported. You live your values.
