An established industry player is seeking a Senior Pharmacist to enhance patient care through effective medication management. The Senior Pharmacist is responsible for processing medication orders entered in provider-order-entry (and written) by prescribers, promptly and accurately providing medications for patient administration, and supplying pertinent, timely, and accurate information to healthcare workers and patients for the safe and effective use of medications.
Additional responsibilities include representing the Pharmacy on key programs such as nutrition support and the Safety Committee. This involves acting as a liaison, serving on committees as appropriate, recommending policies and procedures, and reviewing drug and supply requirements for those programs.
Staff must adhere to all C.A.R.E. Standards and be able to effectively communicate with all healthcare personnel. They should understand the basic operations of the Pharmacy Department, including processing orders, operating Omnicell cabinets and software, Epic, and other pharmacy technology.
Requirements include maintaining sufficient pharmaceutical knowledge for safe medication distribution, a Baccalaureate (or higher) degree in Pharmacy from an approved school, current Pharmacist registration in Massachusetts with no disciplinary actions, and hospital pharmacy experience.
