Job Title

Neo4j Administrator

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable graph database solutions using Neo4j, aligning with business data modeling and connectivity requirements.
  • Administer and optimize Neo4j databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity.
  • Leverage Neo4j Bloom for advanced data visualization, enabling intuitive exploration and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Neo4j into existing data workflows and applications, enhancing data relationships and insights.
  • Develop and manage Cypher queries, procedures, and indexing strategies to support efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Neo4j database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and ensuring system reliability.
  • Implement security best practices for Neo4j, including role-based access control and encryption.
  • Stay current with Neo4j updates, plugins, and community tools to continuously improve database capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams on graph database design and implementation.
  • Conduct regular audits and apply improvements to enhance system efficiency and compliance.
  • Maintain documentation for Neo4j architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Cloud & Infrastructure Responsibilities
  • Manage AWS EC2 instances hosting Neo4j, ensuring optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Utilize AWS CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning for Neo4j deployments.
  • Administer AWS S3 for backup and archival of Neo4j data, optimizing storage and retrieval.
  • Implement AWS IAM policies to secure access to Neo4j and related resources.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies for Neo4j in cloud environments.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in Neo4j administration, including performance tuning, security, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in Cypher query language and Neo4j visualization tools like Bloom.
  • Strong understanding of graph database concepts and their application in real-world scenarios.
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, and CloudFormation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system optimization and innovation.

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $100K-$110K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
