Position Overview :

Merrithew is seeking a self-starter and dynamic Senior Talent Manager to lead talent and workforce initiatives for Instructor Trainers (IT), Lead Instructor Trainers (LIT), Master Instructor Trainers (MIT) and the Merrithew student community. This role will focus on strategic workforce planning, community engagement, career development, and continuous education to support the growth and success of our Instructor Trainer (IT) and student communities.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Workforce Planning

Develop and implement strategic workforce plans to address regional needs, languages, and key competencies, considering demand for instructors and student support.

  • Analyze workforce trends to align talent strategies with Merrithew’s business objectives and ensure an optimal talent pipeline.
  • Collaborate with Education Sales, Education Programming and Studio leadership to forecast talent needs and recommend solutions to meet evolving workforce requirements.
  • Create and oversee a centralized IT database that key stakeholders can access. Information will include all active ITs, their teaching credentials, languages and availability.
  • Build efficiencies and require ITs to provide their availability to teach, up front, on an annual basis and if they are open to international travel.
  • Student & Instructor Recruitment

Design and execute talent sourcing and recruitment strategies to attract high-caliber students and instructors, ensuring a strong talent pool.

  • Partner with marketing and education teams to develop campaigns that increase program visibility and engage potential recruits.
  • Work with global LTC and HTC partners to identify potential IT candidates coming through their courses, on a regular basis.
  • Manage the recruitment lifecycle for all prospective talent, from attraction to on-boarding, fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
  • Instructor (IT / CI) Community and Engagement Initiatives

Lead initiatives to foster a strong, engaged community of Instructor Trainers (IT), Lead Instructor Trainers (LIT), Master Instructor Trainers (MIT) and Certified Instructors (CI). Create and implement programs to strengthen relationships and enhance engagement across the instructor network.

  • Offer a brand ambassador program with special perks and discounts for this select group.
  • Develop communication strategies to connect with the instructor community and encourage ongoing interaction and knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct quarterly Town Halls with the IT community to provide updates, answer questions and foster collaboration and sharing of ideas.
  • Work with the Marketing team to offer content and filming opportunities at head office or to add content to the Merrithew Connect platform.
  • Create an internal / external committee to meet quarterly and discuss new programming ideas, based on market feedback and demand.
  • Recognition Program Development

Build and launch a comprehensive recognition program to celebrate Students, Certified Instructor and Instructor Trainer achievements and contributions.

  • Develop tools and resources to facilitate recognition, including awards, certifications, and public acknowledgment initiatives.
  • Regularly evaluate the recognition program’s impact and make improvements to ensure it resonates with the community.

Participate in the content and programming development processes by collecting and / or providing input from all IT levels community.

  • Co-design, implement and promote career pathways, including a Mosaic Career Model, to support instructor career development within Merrithew or externally.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to the different career pathways for students and IT (Studio Owner Path, Master Instructor Path, Corporate Instructor, etc.).
  • Work closely with instructors and trainers to identify growth opportunities and provide tailored guidance for career advancement.
  • Design resources and tools that encourage career progression, skill development, and long-term engagement with Merrithew.

Drive continued education initiatives to support the professional growth of Instructor Trainers and Master Instructor Trainers.

  • Oversee the development and delivery of ongoing training programs, workshops, and certification opportunities.
  • Ensure that continued education aligns with industry standards and addresses the evolving needs of the Pilates and fitness communities.
  • All other IT training programs that aim to develop new skills in different fields and that round their career opportunities.

Qualifications : Education :

  • Certification in Pilates education or a related fitness program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • STOTT PILATES certification is an asset.
  • Master’s degree or certification in Talent Management, Coaching or Change Management is an asset.

Experience : Strong Acumen in the Pilates industry is an excellent asset for this role.

  • 5 years in any talent recruitment, development fields, workforce planning, or community building.
  • Demonstrated experience within the Pilates or fitness education industry, particularly with instructor communities.
