Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Developing and innovating new industrial strapping machines and material handling equipment both independently and in a team environment.
- Designing hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
- Selecting mechanical components such as actuators, motors, fasteners, bearings, etc., for new machine builds.
- Designing mechanical component sub-assemblies and assemblies for manufacturing.
- Creating assemblies, designs, BOMs, etc., using SolidWorks and / or AutoCAD.
- Supporting sales with technical expertise.
- Reviewing mechanical drawings for completeness and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Partnering with lead engineers, manufacturing engineers, and fabrication teams to refine designs for manufacturability.
- Training junior team members in 3D SolidWorks modeling, 2D AutoCAD drafting, and design standards compliance.
Required skills :
- 8+ years of recent experience in mechanical engineering / design of material handling and automation equipment.
- 8+ years of recent experience using SolidWorks.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in custom fabrication / manufacturing.
- College or university degree in mechanical engineering.
- Proficient in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (SolidWorks) design.
- Mechanical inclination.
