Job details:

Position: Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Canada, Montreal

Reporting to: Engineering Director

Qualification: Engineering degree in Mechanical or equivalent

Job Role:

Engineering Scope

1. Designs machines/equipments in accordance with the international applicable norms and as per customer requirement.
2. Completes projects mandates within defined targets while meeting customer expectations.
3. Produces the BOM for any new design or change in design.
4. Validates the BOM for existing design before hand-off to production.
5. Produces all documentation for production and installation.
6. Produces Maintenance and Operations documentation of the designed equipments for customer use.
7. Accountable for handshake with production for fabrication of equipments and assure that they have all support to successfully fabricate these equipment.
8. Supports other mechanical engineering team members.
9. Interacts with purchasing to make sure to procure the right items as per the specification and in timely manner to produce proposals.
10. Supports purchasing team in the selection of the suppliers.
11. Adopts processes and tools to improve efficiency.
12. Helps resolve technical questions that may arise during project execution.
13. Interfaces with the customer as required in collaboration with the sales and project teams.

Sales Support

1. Supports sales team during bid preparation. Active involvement on the definition of the project execution plan and cost estimation during the quotation phase.
2. Alignment with Sales team to provide the required expertise for the Solutions offered to our customers.
3. Applies Process expertise and Solutions knowledge when preparing technical and economic proposals considering best cost solutions to meet customer needs and Company sales strategy.
4. Supports the sales team on any technical/commercial aspect, during customer negotiations and closing of the deal.

Skills Required:

1. Must have at least 10 years of relevant experience in Industrial Automation Design.
2. Must have Engineering degree in Mechanical or equivalent.
3. Must have Strong working knowledge of Design Software - SolidWorks.
4. In-depth industry and market knowledge.
5. Strong knowledge of products and solutions within Industrial Robotics & Automation market.
6. Customer service and or sales experience.
7. Team management.

1. Total Gross CAD $, having some Savings potential (Salary will be as per Norms for the position).
