Reporting to the VP marketing, the Sr Marketing Manager will be results-driven and lead our event marketing strategy. They’ll own the marketing funnel for Obsidi’s event portfolio—building campaigns that drive tickets, generate revenue, and fill the room with the right people.

This is not a brand awareness role—it’s about conversions, demand generation, and delivering packed events that fuel community impact and business growth.

This is a hybrid role out of our Toronto office, with some travelling to event sites required. As part of the management team, the Sr Marketing Manager also contributes to overall corporate planning and execution to achieve Obsidi’s mission and vision.

What You’ll Do : Event Marketing & Strategy

  • Develop and implement the annual event strategy (in-person and virtual events), ensuring alignment with all business goals
  • Build marketing strategies with compelling value propositions to promote events and drive ticket sales, registrations, and revenue.
  • Develop attendee journey communications to drive pre-event excitement, reduce no-show rates, and maximize engagement.
  • Create and disseminate a comprehensive strategy document (including, but not limited to, event vision, marketing campaigns, messaging, value prop, audience, revenue goals, technology needs, registration and attendee goals) for each event
  • Oversee the execution of all events (marketing, planning logistics and event execution : including venue selection, vendor management, AV production, speaker coordination, and attendee experience)

Revenue & Performance Ownership

  • Develop and own the event budget and P&L to ensure overall profitability of events business and meet margin goals
  • Optimize costs while maintaining high-quality experiences.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Partnerships to align on upsell opportunities and audience cross-promotion.
  • Identify revenue opportunities, including sponsorships, ticketing, and premium experiences.
  • Drive partner and member event NPS scores
  • Bring together all event stakeholders : marketing, technology, operations and business development teams to ensure seamless event promotion and engagement.
  • Collaborate with sales and partnerships teams to drive event revenue and new monetization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with partners to understand their vision, goals, and budget, then design detailed event plans including timelines, logistics, and contingency measures.
  • Build deep relationships with our members to understand their needs, expectations, and aspirations.
  • Ensure post-event analysis and feedback loops from members and partners are integrated into strategy development.

Who you are :

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, with a strong focus on event marketing, demand generation, or growth marketing.
  • 5+ years of supervisory and management experience
  • Able to think and act quickly when unexpected changes or challenges arise.
  • Proven track record of owning revenue goals for large-scale conferences, summits, or industry events.
  • Data-driven mindset—you obsess over dashboards, campaign metrics, and conversion rates.
  • Strong project management skills—you hit deadlines and manage multiple campaigns seamlessly.
  • One speed energy" self motivated with a constant sense of urgency.
  • Effective written and oral communication abilities, including the ability to speak comfortably before large audiences and to engage in open dialogue.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage budgets while navigating conflict with ease.
  • Ability to work and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
