Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will translate engineering designs into clear and concise instructions for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will develop manufacturing methods with minimal supervision to ensure parts are produced efficiently, accurately, and effectively. Responsibilities include designing fixtures and tooling to support production, supporting CNC programming, generating CAD drawings, and creating set-up sheets for machine operators.

Your Challenge:
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Translate engineering drawings and product requirements into item masters, BOMs, and routings in ERP systems.
- Develop standard work instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with front-line team members to optimize work processes and productivity.
- Perform analysis and make buy vs. make decisions for operational efficiency.
- Evaluate engineering changes and act as a technical liaison with other departments.
- Provide technical support to shop floor trades.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior team members.
- Specify shipping configurations and support the shipping department.
- Estimate manufacturing costs and times, and recommend methods and tooling.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, machinists, engineers, and managers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide feedback for design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Resolve design, manufacturing, and quality issues; disposition non-conformances.
- Develop procedures for machine operation and maintenance.
- Generate NC programs for multi-axis CNC machines using CAM software.
- Manage NC program revisions and maintain tooling libraries.
- Support acquisition of new equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
- Assist with quotations, cost estimates, and business case analysis for new processes and equipment.
What You Bring:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a highly engineered, make-to-order manufacturing environment.
- Experience with CAD/CAM tools such as AutoCAD, MasterCam, HyperMill, Creo, SolidWorks, Vericut.
- Blueprint reading skills, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
- Knowledge of manufacturing disciplines including welding, fabrication, assembly, hydraulics, machining, painting, and sandblasting.
- Ability to translate engineering requirements into BOMs, work instructions, and tooling designs.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience in project management from initiation to completion.
- Ability to collaborate, resolve conflicts, and implement change effectively.
- Experience with machine selection, procurement, and installation.
- Experience developing CAPEX business cases.
- Understanding of quality assurance principles in manufacturing.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar; Oracle EBS R12 preferred.
- Experience with repair and overhaul processes for customer returns.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; VBA experience is a plus.
- Experience in a unionized environment and aerospace, defense, or nuclear industries is a plus.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- B.Sc. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, including methods, tooling, and cost analysis.
- CAM/CAD software certification is a plus.
