Position: Sr Data Scientist, Business Banking Credit Risk

The Sr Data Scientist will collaborate with senior management, GRM colleagues, and stakeholders to generate insights and deliver strategic recommendations. The role involves driving analyses, supporting oversight, and providing strategic leadership across Business Banking portfolios, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement data extraction and transformation workflows for analytics.
2. Utilize modern data science tools and cloud platforms for model development and deployment.
3. Translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
4. Apply advanced statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques.
5. Support oversight and analytics to ensure data infrastructure enables strategic initiatives.
6. Monitor portfolio indicators and analyze performance trends.
7. Develop innovative modeling approaches and present findings clearly.
8. Enhance insights using external data sources and document methodologies.
9. Conduct competitive research and benchmarking.
10. Analyze credit score and policy changes across the credit cycle.
11. Collaborate on improving portfolio monitoring and risk management capabilities.
12. Support strategic planning and risk-related analyses.
13. Ensure compliance with risk appetite and operational risk frameworks.
14. Lead a high-performance, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years in data analytics, with experience in Python, SQL, or SAS.
• Familiarity with GCP or major cloud providers.
• Strong knowledge of predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques.
• Experience with visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Knowledge of Business Banking products is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Data engineering and pipeline skills are desirable.
• Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
