What is the opportunity?
The Sr. Manager, Regulatory Remediation is responsible for leading regulatory and audit remediation efforts for the RBC Technology Infrastructure (TI) group. You will be responsible for leading and managing risk remediation efforts, designing and consulting on remediation plans (short term and long term) mitigating technology risks and ensuring compliance. This role works closely with infrastructure and security partners to identify mitigation, and remediation plans and oversee the execution of risk remediation programs in alignment to RBC Risk Management Framework and regulatory expectations.
What will you do?
- Oversee and lead technology risk remediation programs and associated corrective actions
- Collaborate proactively with Tech Business Partners to lead the development and execution of comprehensive risk remediation plans, ensuring adherence to enterprise risk management frameworks and US and Canadian regulations (primarily)
- Monitor and track IT risk remediation efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines and management of overall risk appetite
- Create and present reports to provide ongoing updates and reporting to RBC Technology senior/executive leaders on risk remediation efforts
- Establish deep partnerships with peer groups within the TI Risk & Regulatory organization to enhance and optimize existing IT & risk processes to drive better remediation results
- Create and design processes to establish tracking key data points to develop KPIs/KRIs to measure the success of the program
What do you need to succeed?
Must Haves
- Minimum of 7 years in risk management with a strong focus on mitigation and remediation
- Strong understanding of US regulatory environment including reporting requirements. Prior or current financial services experience required. Regulatory experience with Canada, UK, EU or APAC regulators is a plus
- Strong understanding of technology infrastructure, cyber security, service delivery and risk and change management processes
- Strong knowledge of IT Risk management frameworks and methodologies as well as tools and techniques for monitoring and reporting on IT risks
- Demonstrated expertise collaborating with IT Business partners to identify and develop mitigation and remediation plans for new and emerging risks
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and frameworks such as risk matrices, threat modeling and vulnerability assessments
- Experience managing and prioritizing multiple risk remediation projects simultaneously
- Ability to establish strategic approach for long term sustainable solutions
- Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders and demonstrate strong collaboration skills across the organization
- Strong problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset
- Bachelor’s degree in CompSci, IT, Assurance or related degree.
