What is the opportunity?

The Sr. Manager, Infrastructure & Risk COE Standardization is responsible for establishing standardized IT risk and compliance processes to advance and maintain the risk and compliance health of the RBC Technology Infrastructure (TI) group. You will be responsible for leading the creation, implementation and maintenance of processes required to support the risk life cycle and manage multiple risk stakeholder requirements (e.g. regulatory, audit, internal). This role works closely with infrastructure, security and risk partners to procure or delegate requirements, oversee implementation and follow-through of TI teams in alignment to RBC Risk Management Framework and regulatory expectations.

What will you do?

  • Lead technology risk and compliance management programs and associated corrective actions. Establish new processes to support the enhanced risk management practices from enterprise risk teams and create others to bridge any gaps identified.
  • Collaborate proactively with TI Risk & Regulatory peers to lead the transformation of the TI risk and compliance culture and awareness, ensuring adherence to enterprise risk management frameworks and US and Canadian regulations (primarily).
  • Act as the single point of contact for consolidated or aggregate TI risk requirements (reporting, KRI/KPI management, risk program updates etc).
  • Create and present reports to provide ongoing updates and reporting to RBC Technology senior/executive leaders on risk and compliance transformation efforts.
  • Establish deep partnerships with peer groups within the TI Risk & Regulatory organization to enhance and optimize existing IT & risk processes to drive better remediation results.
  • Identify and champion opportunities to more efficiently and effectively manage risk and compliance requirements within the TI group.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Haves

  • Minimum of 7 years in risk management with a strong focus on mitigation and remediation.
  • Strong understanding of US & Canadian regulatory environment including reporting requirements. Prior or current financial services experience required. Regulatory experience with UK, EU or APAC regulators is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of technology infrastructure, cyber security, service delivery and risk and change management processes.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple risk remediation projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish strategic approach for long term sustainable solutions.
  • Deep desire to support training and education of others and self.
  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders and demonstrate strong collaboration skills across the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in CompSci, IT, Assurance or related degree.

Nice-to-have

  • Certifications are a plus (e.g., CRISC, CISA, CISM, CAMS, CISSP).
