What You’ll Be Doing
  • Senior Manager & Team Lead, Business Banking – responsible for building, developing and leading a team of Relationship Managers, Business Advisors and/or Associate Business Advisors to meet the needs of our high-complexity business clients. Drive growth by providing advice/services on a broad range of business products. Accountable for growing the portfolio by proactively developing new business, credit and cash management opportunities in the community, including end-to-end credit management, to meet/exceed the portfolio financial plan. Ensure we provide the right products and solutions to meet our clients’ goals. Build a capable and motivated team through proactive talent management, create a positive work environment, ensure effective operations, controls and compliance, and promote CIBC to deliver superior client experiences and growth that exceeds peers.

How You’ll Succeed
  • Leadership – Provide active leadership and hands-on coaching to a team in executing and managing client relationships, including the delivery of credit and cash management services. Create an environment that fosters an exceptional relationship culture, supports partnering behaviour, and leverages individuals’ expertise to provide best-in-class service and overall relationship management. Build team and individual capabilities to meet job standards, including credit skills.
  • Relationship Management – Develop new client relationships through business development activities leveraging referrals, existing clients and centres of influence. Understand client goals and status, lead business development, and represent CIBC in the community to build relationships. Attend and participate in trade shows, seminars, luncheons, and community events.
  • Collaboration – Support a culture of collaboration across banking centres and internal partners to bring the best of CIBC to clients and help them achieve their financial goals. Build a local business profile to translate into effective working relationships with clients and partners.
  • Credit risk management – Ensure due diligence and management of credit quality within thresholds, with early detection of deteriorating files. Interact with clients and internal partners in line with CIBC policies and procedures; escalate where appropriate.
