As Senior Manager, Assessment Operations & Integration, you'll provide senior operational leadership and cross-functional coordination across the Medical Council of Canada's (MCC) examination programs and preparatory products. Reporting to the Executive Director, Assessment, you'll work closely with managers and subject matter experts across the Assessment department to plan, integrate, deliver, and continuously improve assessment operations.
You’ll be the bridge between strategy and execution — translating high-level priorities into coordinated operational plans that keep examination programs running smoothly and consistently.
This role sits at the heart of organizational effectiveness. Your leadership will drive operational consistency, quality improvement, and a better candidate experience across every examination program you touch.

What You’ll Do
- Provide senior operational leadership and coordination across MCC examination programs and preparatory products.
- Drive implementation of departmental priorities and promote consistent operational practices across examination programs.
- Oversee operational and budget planning, resource coordination, readiness activities, and business continuity planning.
- Lead resolution of complex delivery, resource, risk, and cross-functional coordination issues across examination programs.
- Lead cross-functional projects and operational transformation initiatives that enhance examination delivery, efficiency, quality, and candidate experience.
- Lead implementation of new assessment models, technologies, systems, and delivery approaches aligned with MCC strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, operational partners, vendors, and examination contributors to support program delivery and continuous improvement.
- Support coordination with examination-related committees and working groups to facilitate effective collaboration and program delivery
- Lead and support managers and professional staff responsible for examination operations and delivery activities.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and problem-solving support to managers navigating complex operational and people-related issues.
Experience
What you need to succeed
- 7-10 years experience leading managers and complex operational programs, preferably in the assessment field
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with external parties, regulators, and partners
- Experience in non-profit operations and budget preparation
- Experience as a leader in the health professions’ education, assessment or healthcare delivery sector(s) is considered a strong asset
Technical Skills
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic direction into operational plans and results
- Knowledge of high-stakes assessment best practices and procedures
- Knowledge of psychometric processes supporting high-stakes assessments
- High degree of comfort with use of information technology to assist with assessment practices and supports
- Ability to monitor for, recognize and flag in a timely manner any emerging issues and/or areas of concern in relation to examination activities
- Ability to assess risks related to exam security and mitigating practices

Education
- Post-secondary bachelor’s degree in administration or other related field (business, health or education)
- Asset: Masters in business administration, Leadership
Language
- Advanced oral and written skills in English are required, with oral and written skills in French considered an asset.
