What You’ll Be Doing

As a member of CIBC’s Capital Markets Regulatory Technology team in AML/TM, the Senior Manager, Application Development is responsible for managing multiple development projects, development groups, and application support functions for major lines of business. The role applies professional knowledge to oversee the development, testing, and implementation of Transaction Monitoring systems, directing, motivating, and developing staff to maximize their individual contributions and function effectively as a team. The Senior Manager leads a team, manages resource requirements and allocations, monitors and improves quality, and ensures 'best practice' development techniques. Additionally, the role works with business groups in developing, testing, and implementing application programs that help monitor Anti-Money Laundering / Transaction Monitoring activities.

How You’ll Succeed

1. Understanding Requirements – Track and analyze operating environment for specified services, implement corrective actions, work with stakeholders and internal partners to determine, negotiate, and manage services to standards. Monitor service levels to identify improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.
2. People Leadership – Lead and coach a high-performing team. Direct, motivate, and develop team members, maximizing contributions and growth. Share knowledge and collaborate on effective solutions.
3. Relationship Management – Work closely with stakeholders and business partners to develop, test, and implement application programs. Advise application owners on technology possibilities and requirements to drive impact.

Who You Are

• Experience – Leading a team of developers, coaching, and developing team members. Hands-on experience in Software Design using SOLID principles. Understanding of DevOps, Microservices, REST APIs, and technical skills in C#, .NET, SQL Server, SSIS, REACT. Assets include knowledge of Capital Markets products/Banking and Azure Cloud. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Education – Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• Leadership – Bold, authentic leader passionate about development and coaching. Experienced in leading diverse, high-performing teams.
