What you'll be doing

As a Sr. Mainframe zOS System Programmer, you will provide technical direction and subject matter expertise to ensure stable, reliable environments for complex sharing initiatives, in compliance with established controls, standards, policies, and procedures. You will collaborate with and advise senior management, analyze and protect test environment integrity, mitigate risks, and recommend solutions for complex initiatives. You will also develop the team to maximize individual contributions and professional growth, while working effectively with colleagues.

Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How you'll succeed
  • Technical Expertise: Review and analyze client software and requirements; install, upgrade, and customize ISV software tools in a multi-system z/OS mainframe environment; ensure software and hardware remain current.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate across technology teams; document problem analysis, resolution, and prevention; participate in disaster recovery exercises.
  • Relationship Management: Collaborate with internal partners and vendors; build networks and relationships; influence outcomes through strong communication skills.
Who you are
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in Mainframe technology or system programming; experience with z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, SMPE, RMF, SMF, WLM, and related tools; understanding of System z architecture, z/OSMF, hardware, and network integration.
  • Certification: Current IBM Badge/Advanced Certification in Mainframe preferred; experience with incident, change, and problem handling.
  • Client Focus: Stress-resistant, disciplined, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Influence: Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail & Adaptability: Critical thinking and openness to change.
