Your Impact

OpenText is seeking a strategic and results‑driven Senior M&A Manager to join our Corporate Development team. This role will be a key contributor to the company’s portfolio optimization strategy, with a particular focus on evaluating and executing divestiture opportunities alongside acquisitions. You will lead cross‑functional teams, assist in managing end‑to‑end deal execution, and help shape the future of OpenText’s global portfolio.

What The Role Offers
  • Leading the full lifecycle of divestiture and acquisition transactions, including opportunity identification, evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, and integration/divestiture planning and execution.
  • Driving divestiture strategy, including asset preparation, carve‑out planning and separation execution in collaboration with business leaders and functional teams.
  • Building financial models and conducting valuation analyses to support strategic decision‑making for both acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Maintaining a robust pipeline of acquisition targets in collaboration with business unit leaders.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders across Finance, Legal, HR, Product, Sales and Operations to ensure seamless deal execution, post‑merger integration or divestiture planning.
  • Identifying and assessing strategic fit, risks, and synergies of potential targets or divestiture opportunities.
  • Preparing and presenting investment memos and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Maintaining relationships with external advisors, including investment banks, private equity and venture capital firms.
What You Need To Succeed
  • 5 – 7+ years of experience in M&A, investment banking, corporate development, or venture capital – ideally with a track record of completing divestitures and corporate carve‑outs.
  • Proven track record of executing complex acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation and business case development skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA, CA or CFA considered an asset.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed.
