Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Canada Inc. is seeking a backend developer to architect and build scalable Java services in a capital markets environment.

You will design and implement microservices using Spring Boot, ensure data consistency with Hibernate ORM and SQL, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define APIs and service contracts. You will also develop automation scripts in Python, work with Solace messaging for event-driven workflows, and optimize performance for low-latency

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java for backend development and production-grade applications.
• Solid experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience with Solace messaging and event-driven architectures is essential.
• Hands-on experience with Hibernate ORM and SQL database design, optimization and query tuning.
• Familiarity with Claude (AI integration) for backend automation and optimization is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• You will architect and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot, designing systems that meet high-performance and reliability standards required in a capital markets environment.
• You will build and maintain microservices that communicate seamlessly across our enterprise infrastructure, leveraging Solace messaging for event-driven workflows and ensuring data consistency through Hibernate ORM and SQL database design.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design APIs and service contracts, participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and knowledge sharing, and optimize database queries and application performance for low-latency trading systems.
• Additionally, you will develop and maintain automation scripts using Python to streamline deployment, testing, and operational workflows.

Required Skills and Experience

• You must have strong proficiency in Java for backend development and full-stack system design, with demonstrated experience building production-grade applications.
• You should have solid experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem, understanding dependency injection, configuration management, and best practices in Spring application development.
• Experience with Solace messaging and event-driven architectures is essential, along with expertise in microservices design patterns and inter-service communication.
• You will need hands-on experience with Hibernate ORM for object-relational mapping and strong SQL skills for database design, optimization, and query performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Claude (AI integration) for backend automation and optimization is preferred.
• You should also have experience writing Python scripts for automation, testing, and operational tasks.
