We are currently seeking a Sr. Java Developer to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada. This position is 100% in office in Halifax, NS.

The client team is looking to fill an interesting and challenging position on its development team. As a Software Engineer Developer, you will be a team member in an agile squad doing feature development within the team. This includes:

• Providing mentoring to the team of developers and tech leads with specific emphasis on sound fundamental development methodology.
• Providing leadership on project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies.
• Participating in the team's effort to improve the efficiency and quality of the entire development process.

The expertise you have :

• 8 years of development experience in Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, web services (REST), and configuring web containers.
• Working knowledge of API management software such as envoy-based API gateway.
• Experience with IDEs like Spring Tool Suite, Eclipse on Unix and Windows environments.
• Application build and deployment using CI/CD tools – Jenkins, Maven, Udeploy, etc.
• Experience with Docker, cloud computing, and cloud services like AWS, Azure, API Gateway, etc.
• Understanding of core Java, SOAP Web Services, SAML, REST APIs, Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring modules including IOC and MVC (REST).
• Knowledge of REST concepts and REST APIs using Spring Boot with Tomcat and Docker.
• Good relational database knowledge involving SQL and PLSQL.
• Experience with FTP frameworks using third-party libraries like Apache.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
• Unix experience.
