Summary:

We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will strategically partner with the DC General Manager to drive critical HR initiatives and elevate our HR processes. As a key member of the inaugural leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive HR strategy that directly contributes to our vision of creating a world-class supply chain operation and fostering a truly Great Place to Work.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and other key leaders to recruit and assemble a top-notch management team for the distribution center.
  • Develop an effective management operating model in conjunction with various Operations leaders to support the efficient ramp-up of the distribution center.
  • Actively participate in multiple workstreams as part of a larger project management plan, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.
  • Champion the distribution center as a Great Place to Work by effectively marketing it to the local community.
  • Establish a robust local HR team to support the successful implementation of ramp-up plans for the distribution center.
  • Partner with site operational leads to develop and execute strategic HR plans that enhance our organizational culture, promote team engagement, foster positive employee relations, facilitate talent development, optimize recruitment and retention strategies, champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, recognize colleague achievements, and enhance internal communications.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership team to cultivate an exceptional building culture that fosters collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
  • Develop and implement standardized operating procedures to ensure efficient and consistent HR practices.
  • Actively contribute as a valued member of a larger HR team that supports over 200,000 colleagues and employees across various divisions within the Loblaw Family of Companies.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation to people leaders and colleagues on matters related to morale, general employee relations, and performance management.
  • Assist people leaders and colleagues in effectively managing job performance, including developing corrective plans and disciplinary documentation.
  • Identify and implement appropriate training opportunities and strategies to meet evolving business requirements, utilizing suitable training and development tools. Guide the training process within the distribution center.
  • Stay up-to-date with and ensure compliance with all employment-related and labour legislation, providing timely guidance when changes occur.
Qualifications
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for finding excitement in ambiguity. You thrive in environments that challenge you to solve problems creatively and build support with business leaders to execute your ideas and plans.
  • A genuine passion for working with operations teams. You are equally comfortable engaging with employees on the warehouse floor, meeting with night crew members, and leading meetings in an office setting.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources is required, and a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or working towards the designation is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 4-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in distribution, transportation, manufacturing, large scale hospitality or retail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, complemented by a strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including active listening and effective counseling abilities, demonstrated across all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and alignment while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
  • Advanced recruitment skills with demonstrated experience and a track record of successfully sourcing and attracting high-caliber candidates.
  • A proven ability to solve complex problems using creativity, independent judgment, and analytical thinking.
  • Thorough understanding of employment law, particularly within the province of Ontario.
  • A confident, professional, and energetic individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
