Job description

Provides timely, quality maintenance for FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and documentation. Documents work with appropriate repair orders and parts using FedEx computer systems. Ensures compliance with OSHA and DOT standards. Guides and supports a team of technicians and trainees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Vocational training from an accredited automotive-related vocational school is preferred. ASE Master certification is preferred.

Minimum Experience

Four (4) years of fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle advanced technical repair and maintenance experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the operation of equipment, testing tools, gauges, and tools used in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, gasoline, diesel, electric, and hybrid motorized equipment. Proficient in operating a personal computer. Demonstrates teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Job Conditions

Possession of basic automotive hand tools, including metric sizes. Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver heavier weights with assistance. Ability to work independently for extended periods. Capable of working in noisy, non-air-conditioned/heated environments. Must work any shift, possess a valid driver's license, and meet federal motor carrier safety regulations (section 391). Medical exam required. This is a non-covered safety-sensitive position.

Preferred Qualifications

Pay Transparency: This range is an estimate of current starting salaries across locations, reflecting job level minimum and maximum. Actual pay depends on experience, market, location, and other factors. Employees may receive additional pay, premiums, or bonuses. Benefits include health, vision, dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: $32.03 - $42.14
