Job description

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of life safety/fire alarm system engineering end to end, providing concrete fire alarm solutions based on systematic code analysis and customer specifications.
  • Prepare design shop drawings, including field device layout, riser diagrams, equipment elevations, detailed wiring, point-to-point device wiring, logic diagrams, line loss calculations, battery calculations, BOM, cable schedules, etc., based on relevant fire alarm codes and standards.
  • Communicate technical concepts/solutions to internal and external customers, conduct site walks, review customer specifications accurately, and identify opportunities, risks, and resources required to achieve results within the proposal cycle.
  • Review job contract plans, scope and specifications, MRs, survey information, sales sketches, estimates, and take-off sheets for opportunities and proposals, clearly defining requirements prior to starting engineering.
  • Prepare submittals per engineering standards, ensure commitment dates are met, and review submittals with project teams to obtain hardware approval.
  • Support Sales and Project Managers on surveys, application selection, retrofit opportunities, and assessing customers' business objectives and strategies.
  • Communicate professionally in writing and verbally with account teams, proposal teams, management, and customers.
  • Advise and consult as a technical expert to sales and project managers to drive and implement projects.
  • Manage personal backlog of projects and multitask to produce desired results within deadlines.
  • Build positive and effective working relations with internal customers (sales, PMs, techs) and external customers.
  • Conduct activities safely, adhering to HS&E requirements to protect associates, the public, and the environment.

Must Have :

  • Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of Electrical Engineering/Design experience in Fire Alarm Systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • 5+ years of experience with Fire Codes including IBC, IFC, NBC, NFC, NFPA 72, UL/ULC standards for Life Safety Systems.

We Value :

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Competencies in NAC device layout, SLC device layout, sizing of amplifiers, power supplies, panels, batteries, and basic smoke control.
  • Good understanding of integrations with building automation systems, security systems, fire protection systems, elevator control, lighting systems, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent time management and dedication to delivering on schedule.
