Job summary

Canada Goose in Toronto seeks a Sr. Financial Analyst, Reporting for an 18-month contract to support external financial statements, MD&A, and securities filings in Canada and the United States.

You will work cross-functionally with Finance to prepare entries, notes, disclosures, lease accounting, and IFRS policy support, ensuring timely reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business/Accounting required.
  • CPA designation is an asset if completed; in progress is acceptable.
  • 4+ years accounting experience or equivalent.
  • Experience in financial analysis or data analytics helpful.
  • Experience with consumer products, retail, or manufacturing is an asset.
  • Experience with publicly traded companies in Canada/US or regimented private-company reporting.
  • COSO internal control framework familiarity preferred.
  • Extensive IFRS knowledge, IFRS 16 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual external financial statements, MD&A, and securities filings in Canada and the United States.
  • Prepare note disclosures and supporting schedules; upload statements into Workiva/Wdesk.
  • Support MD&A preparation and review XBRL tagging.
  • Assist in quarterly reviews and year-end audits; manage lease accounting and analysis.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and accounting entries, including lease accounting, fixed assets, debt, and derivatives; ensure controls.

Position Overview:

Reporting to theDirector,Financial Reporting, you will work cross functionally with Finance Department team members to assist in the preparation of certain accounting entries, including lease accounting, and the quarterly and annual external Financial Statements, Management’s Discussion and Analysis(“MD&A”)and securities filings in Canada and the United States.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual external Financial Statements, MD&A and securities filings in Canada and the United States.Tasks include:

  • Uploading internal Financial Statements and supporting schedules into the WorkivaWdeskfinancial reporting platform

  • Prepare note disclosures and certain supporting schedules

  • Support the preparation of the MD&A

  • Review XBRL tagging of Annual Financial Statements in WorkivaWdeskplatform

  • Assist in quarterly reviews and annual year-end audit of financial statements

  • Responsible for lease accounting and analysis, providing support forCanada Goose’s global lease portfolio

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Financial Statements and certain accounting entries and account reconciliations, including the following areas:

  • Lease accounting

  • Fixed Assets

  • Long-term debt

  • Derivatives and hedge accounting

  • Execute internal controls with respect to financial policies,processes,and procedures

  • Prepare financial and technical analysis for IFRS accounting policy position papers, as requested

  • Contribute to team effort by completing financial reporting tasks as needed

Let’s Talk About You:

  • University degree in Business/Accounting

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is in progress, completed is an asset

  • 4+ years of accounting experience

  • Experience in financial analysis or data analytics

  • Experience in the Consumer Products industry, retail or manufacturing a definite asset

  • Experience working in publicly traded companies listed in Canada and the United States, or experience working in private companies with regimented reporting requirements

  • Working within an internal control reporting framework preferred, preferably COSO

  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 16 is preferred

Salary Range:

$73,000.00 - $102,000.00 / year
