Job description

The Opportunity :

As part of Maple Leaf Foods Finance team, this position will be responsible for analyzing and reporting production results, with a focus on identifying trends and investigating variances. You will interact frequently with personnel at various levels within the organization.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life :

  1. Ensure accurate reporting and provide daily and weekly production reports.
  2. Investigate daily variances, analyze production trends, and provide explanations to management.
  3. Support Bill of Material creation activities as part of the Plant 4-wall SAP project.
  4. Assist in the cost estimate process.
  5. Support Six Sigma projects, including calculation of savings.
  6. Participate in the annual budget process, month-end, and weekly forecasting.
  7. Respond to ad hoc report requests from plant finance.

What You’ll Bring :

  • Post-secondary education in finance or a related business field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing costing experience in an ERP environment.
  • Currently working towards or possessing a professional accounting designation (CGA, CA, CMA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to suggest improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting financial data to non-financial audiences.
  • Familiarity with SAP is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Strong prioritization skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment.
