Honeywell is actively recruiting for a Sr. Field Service Technician based in North Bay, Ontario.

The Sr. Field Service Technician leads successful on-site installation, servicing, and repair processes of complex equipment and systems without direct supervision. Responsibilities include following detailed work instructions, updating outdated or incorrect instructions with the help of Engineering teams, improving training guides and documentation, and leading continuous improvement initiatives related to delivery and installation of equipment. The role also involves training customers on proper usage, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures for complex equipment.

Customers will have various products installed in categories such as HVAC, automation controls, life safety, fire, and security systems, along with their associated computer systems. The goal is to ensure system uptime and efficiency.

You will report directly to the Sr. Field Service Supervisor and primarily work at client sites in North Bay and Timmins, ON.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Verify system functional performance, including testing, calibrating, and verifying system and peripheral device operations according to preventative maintenance schedules.
  2. Complete documentation of all work performed, including readings and offsets.
  3. Maintain customer system documentation, including configuration or model changes.
  4. Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
  5. Stay updated on product changes and preventive maintenance techniques.
  6. Perform duties outside of normal hours as required.

Customer Management

  • Build and maintain good customer relations.
  • Inform supervisor of customer requirements, system status, and potential or perceived problems.
  • Demonstrate systems and provide training to customers as needed.

Health and Safety

  • Conduct site hazard and risk assessments for Honeywell tasks, including proper use of safety equipment.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage Honeywell assets such as tools, software, and site databases.
  • Keep documentation and paperwork up to date.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a technical field such as mechanical, electrical, or electronic studies.
  • Valid Full G driver’s license.
  • Ability to acquire required security clearances.
  • Willingness to travel within Northern Ontario with overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 1 year of experience with building automation systems, HVAC, or control systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, Office Suite, troubleshooting, PC, and networking.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm codes, NFPA guidelines, and fire alarm devices.
  • Knowledge of security systems, access control, CCTV, and related software.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in building automation and security system installation/service.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and identify mistakes.
