Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

EA SPORTS is one of the most iconic brands in entertainment, connecting hundreds of millions of players to the sports they love. The EA SPORTS UFC franchise offers the electrifying spectacle and entertainment of MMA for over 20 million players across the globe, delivering fluid and responsive mixed martial arts through inventive gameplay technology.

Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, the EA SPORTS UFC team is on a mission to become the world's greatest fighting game. If you're passionate about building immersive digital entertainment, this is the role of a lifetime. We are looking for a talented designer to help us get there.

The Role:

This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Experience Designer with strong craft and great attention to detail. As an advocate for player-centric experiences, you will help define the next generation of our franchise and play a crucial role in shaping the user experience for millions of players, from core gameplay mechanics, game mode new features, to the first-time user experience. You will collaborate closely with creative, technical, and product partners to shape outstanding, player-centric experiences from concept through final delivery.

Qualifications:

Core Experience

5-8+ years of experience in game development, experience design, or a related product design field.

A strong portfolio demonstrating your design process and showcasing your expertise in creating user-centered design solutions.

Design Craft & Execution

Ability to lead the design of intuitive, responsive, and engaging user flows, wireframes, and prototypes across different platforms.

Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe Suites, or similar).

Experience creating and maintaining clear design documentation, including user flow diagrams, wireframes, and design specifications.

Experience leveraging AI tools and workflows to enhance design velocity, craft, and execution while maintaining high quality standards.

Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate player-centric decisions and the 'why' behind them to cross-functional partners and leadership.

Collaborative mindset and comfort working cross-functionally with producers, game designers, artists, and engineers.

Ability to mentor and provide constructive feedback to more junior designers on the team.

Strategic & Systems Thinking

Strong systems thinking and an ability to design within existing frameworks and constraints.

Experience refining, maintaining, and expanding design systems, component libraries, and design tokens.

Ability to establish design standards and exercise judgment on where to enforce consistency versus empowering feature-specific customization.

Nice to have:

Experience working on live service or AAA games.

A passion for video games and interactive entertainment.

A strong interest in the UFC brand.

At EA, we believe our future is to build joyful experiences and push the boundaries of our games, and we want your help and expertise in doing so. If this resonates with you and you have something to contribute, please contact us, even if you don't meet all of the criteria above.

Please include a portfolio link and password if applicable. Also, please be prepared to show recent accomplishments, processes, case studies, and projects.
