Job description

A career in our SR&ED tax practice at PwC Canada offers the opportunity to help clients solve business issues related to tax credits and incentives. You will assist in identifying and maximizing federal and state tax credits and incentives, providing valuable analysis and tracking to support clients' business objectives. Our team focuses on creating proactive and value-added programs to enhance client engagement and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and rules.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a SR&ED Manager, you'll work with a team of professionals to help our clients with the preparation of their tax incentive claims. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Participate in the completion of SR&ED claims (Canada) and R&D tax credit claims (US)
  2. Complete assignments on time and within budget to meet client expectations
  3. Provide practical solutions to optimize clients' returns from SR&ED and other government incentives
  4. Attend meetings and support clients during SR&ED reviews
  5. Assist in managing a portfolio of clients, reporting to Senior Managers and above
  6. Be involved in the financial management of clients
  7. Engage in business development activities to identify and research opportunities
  8. Contribute to the development of your own and the team’s technical acumen
  9. Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
  10. Assist in managing and delivering large projects
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
  • Proven experience in computer science, IT, or technical management including competencies in Software development, hardware development and IT systems
  • A degree or education in a STEM field or related discipline
  • Broad knowledge of current development technologies including web development, XML, Java, JavaScript, C#, database technologies, open source, mobile apps, and other related technologies
  • Prior experience with the SR&ED tax credit program including preparing and supporting IT or software based SR&ED claims
  • Strong client-service orientation focused on achieving high quality, timely and profitable results
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills combined with intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Creative problem-solving skills to apply the SR&ED rules to client opportunities and the skill and experience needed to lead claim preparation and review engagements
  • The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
