Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development of a programmatic document control strategy tailored for major capital projects within Metro Vancouver.
  2. Establish standards for information governance, including compliance, document lifecycle management, metadata, and permissions.
  3. Recommend and implement tools and platforms for effective document and records management.
  4. Provide advisory support to integrate document control practices with broader project governance frameworks (e.g., CPMO / EPMO).
  5. Facilitate training and knowledge transfer sessions on new document control practices.
  6. Advise on compliance and audit readiness, ensuring traceability, version control, and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  1. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Document Control within large capital project environments, preferably in infrastructure, utilities, or the public sector.
  2. Proven expertise in developing and implementing document management governance, procedures, and systems at a program or corporate level.
  3. Strong familiarity with information compliance standards, document lifecycle governance, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  4. Experience with Document Management Systems (DMS) such as Aconex, SharePoint, or similar enterprise platforms.
  5. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and public infrastructure project frameworks is a strong asset.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
  7. Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and leadership in process change within large organizations.
