About the work environment :

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8 : 00am and 4 : 30pm with flexibility around start & end times.

About you :

You are an experienced DataOps Engineer, you are passionate about designing best in class data lifecycle management solutions for the projects you work on, with your experience and expertise, you strive for high standards of quality when building and maintaining robust, scalable, and efficient data platforms in a cloud-native environment. You are comfortable working across technology and business teams to drive solutions, help design solid technical solutions with security, performance, and resiliency in mind, and know the difference between a proof of concept and production grade processes.

About the qualifications :

  • More than 8 years of experience working in the DevOps space,
  • Strong experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Expertise in CI / CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI).
  • Workflow automation and orchestration (Airflow, Dagster).
  • 3 years of hands-on development and designing experience building DevOps experiences for data engineers.
  • Experience using Snowflake an asset.
  • Experience working on an Enterprise Data Mesh or an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Experience implementing and enforcing data security, access control, and data masking policies.
  • Experience deploying, monitoring, and maintaining data engineering pipelines.
  • Experience building observability for data platforms (storage, compute, ETL, orchestration, etc.)
  • 3 years of experience working in cloud native infrastructure.
  • Experience working in AWS, Azure or GCP (AWS certification an asset).
  • Experience leveraging cloud native tools, such as object-storage, serverless processes, RDBMS, data processing platforms.
  • Experience collaborating with security teams to build cloud-based data systems that are secure by design.

About the day-to-day :

  • Conceptualize, design, build and support data systems.
  • Development of continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines for data engineering workloads.
  • Work on high availability and disaster recovery of core data platform.
  • Develop continuous monitoring tools.
  • Scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
  • Performance and security considerations.
  • Production support and maintenance.
  • Automation of unit testing for features and functionality.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including planning, grooming, retrospective and daily.
  • Participate in solution design for projects.
  • Learn new technologies and approaches :
  • Participate in selecting and proving new technologies.
  • Learning new approaches, technologies, paradigms.
  • Translate proof of concepts into production ready applications.

Compensation :

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary and discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $120,000 and $145,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities & experience that the chosen candidate possess.
