Job Description

Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to the office at least three days per week. If you live outside an 80 KM radius from Markham Elevation Centre, the role will be remote.

The Role

We are at a pivotal point in our industry where simulation techniques are driving a digital revolution in our engineering tools and systems. As we develop new software content for our vehicles, our vision is to augment simulation techniques with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to maximize efficiency, robustness, and scalability. We are creating dedicated teams focused on AI, data analytics, simulation, and automation frameworks for hardware, software, and system design and development.

This role is critical for embedding advanced data analytics into our models, which are essential for robust AI and optimization implementations.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Use data analytics and signal processing to analyze simulation output data, employing techniques like wavelet transforms and motif discovery.
  • Develop custom feature extraction methods for predictive modeling and optimization.
  • Apply statistical methods, anomaly detection, and clustering to uncover patterns.
  • Work with large-scale datasets and collaborate with team experts to interpret physical insights.
  • Create interactive data visualizations to communicate findings.
  • Assist in building ML models that can serve as surrogates in simulations.
  • Prototype new data-driven solutions aligned with evolving goals and future-proof our technology stacks.
  • Continuously challenge the status quo to deepen understanding of our data.
  • Manage ambiguity effectively to leverage creative insights while delivering concrete results.
  • Lead and mentor team members towards shared objectives.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field with a focus on Data Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in signal processing, feature extraction, or data analysis.
  • Expertise in data science, advanced statistics, signal processing, and simulation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in core programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C/C++, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data tools: Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy), SQL, signal processing libraries (PyWavelets, Tsfresh), etc.
  • Experience with ML modeling and tools (e.g., Scikit-learn, XGBoost).
  • Willingness to learn and grow in an emerging field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in relevant fields with a focus on Data Science.
  • Experience with Automotive Software development processes.
  • Knowledge of Full-Stack AI Deployment (e.g., MLOps, Docker, Kubernetes, FastAPI, cloud services).
  • Experience with advanced simulation or Co-Simulation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of robust optimization techniques (GA, PSO, MDO, etc.).
