Overview

The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating credit risk in the bank’s loan portfolio and providing analytical support to the lending team, Credit Manager, and Chief Credit Officer. This role prepares credit recommendations, underwrites complex loans, and helps ensure loan quality and compliance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (required)
  • Minimum 3 years of credit analysis / underwriting experience (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze borrower financial statements, credit data, and industry information to assess loan risk
  • Prepare and present recommendations for lending committees, including loan structure and terms
  • Underwrite new loans, renewals, and modifications, monitoring covenant compliance
  • Prepare credit memorandums for participations and syndications; communicate with participant banks
  • Conduct annual loan reviews and review new loan files for completeness
  • Assist with training junior credit analysts and support loan committee activities
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and internal procedures
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong financial statement analysis and credit underwriting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present and negotiate effectively
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
