Job description

This is an interview position.

Responsibilities include operating company vehicles to efficiently deliver and pick up packages, providing coverage for a minimum of 15 routes in a floating capacity, and serving as a mentor to hourly employees by demonstrating strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills through Best Practices methods.

The role also involves promoting sales and generating potential incremental revenue where possible.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Educational Requirements: High school diploma/equivalent

Related Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of previous courier experience

Adjustment Period: 6 months to learn or adjust to the job

Special Notes: Incumbents do not have regular routes but cover open routes in the absence of the assigned courier. The DG specialist requirement depends on station size and location, with senior management having override rights.

Technical Skill Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to complete and maintain DG certification and FedEx DG Specialist certification
  • Understanding of FedEx products, services, and operations
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with equipment
  • Knowledge of Federal Express operations and Canadian Customs regulations is an asset
  • In Quebec, bilingual in French and English
Interpersonal Skill Requirements
  • Excellent human relations, customer relations, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills
