Job description
Overview

This is an interview position. The courier operates company vehicles to provide efficient delivery and pickup of packages in a floating capacity for a minimum of 15 routes. The role involves working as a courier without an assigned regular route and serving as a mentor by modeling professional behavior, including strong communication, conflict resolution and leadership through Best Practices methods. The position also promotes continued sales and generates potential incremental revenue where possible.

Responsibilities
  • Operate company vehicles for delivery and pickup with a flexible routing scope (minimum of 15 routes) and cover open routes as needed.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for hourly employees, demonstrating effective communication, conflict resolution and leadership.
  • Promote continued sales and identify opportunities for incremental revenue where feasible.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma/equivalent
Related Experience Requirements
  • One (1) year of previous courier experience
  • Six (6) months to learn or adjust to the job
Special Notes
  • Incumbents do not have regularly assigned routes; coverage is provided for open routes in the absence of the normally assigned courier.
  • The requirement of DG specialist is dependent upon station size and location. Senior Management (MD level) reserves the right to override these requirements.
Technical Skill Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to complete all basic and recurrency training, including maintaining DG certification, with yearly recurrency training prior to expiration.
  • Ability to gain and maintain FedEx DG Specialist certification.
  • Good understanding of FedEx products, service features, and general operations.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
  • Some knowledge of Federal Express operations and Canadian Customs regulations is an asset.
  • In the Province of Quebec, bilingual (French and English) required.
