Overview

To operate company vehicles and provide efficient delivery and pickup of packages while performing in a floating capacity for a minimum of 15 routes. To work as a courier but not on an assigned regular route.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles and provide efficient delivery and pickup of packages in a floating capacity for a minimum of 15 routes (not on an assigned regular route).
• Model behavior for hourly employees by mentoring and demonstrating leadership, including strong communication, conflict resolution and Best Practices methods.
• Promote continued sales and generate potential incremental revenue wherever possible.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: High school diploma / equivalent.
• Related Experience Requirements: One (1) year of previous courier experience; Six (6) months to learn or adjust to the job.
• Special Notes: Incumbent(s) do not have regularly assigned routes; provide coverage for open routes in the absence of the normally assigned courier. The requirement of DG specialist depends on station size and location. Senior Management has the right to override these requirements.
• Technical Skill Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record. Ability to complete all basic and recurrency training (including DG certification) and maintain accreditation through yearly recurrency training. Ability to gain and maintain FedEx DG Specialist certification. Good understanding of FedEx products, features of service, and general operations. Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with equipment. Some knowledge of Federal Express operations and Canadian Customs regulations is an asset. In Quebec, bilingual (French and English) is required.
• Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Excellent customer relations and communication skills; strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
