Job description

Our client, in the energy sector, requires a senior Corporate Accountant for a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities :

1. Assist with month-end and quarter-end activities in the corporate accounting department.
2. Account for compensation, including long-term incentives, severance, and vacation accruals.
3. Handle accounting for debt financing and cross-currency swap entries.
4. Participate in merger and acquisition, divestiture analysis, and accounting.
5. Conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis.
6. Prepare and peer review account reconciliations.
7. Review and mentor junior staff.
8. Identify process efficiencies and improvements, along with any other ad hoc requirements.

Job Requirements :

1. CPA designation with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience.
2. SAP experience or exposure to other large ERP systems.
3. Strong corporate accounting knowledge and best practices.
4. Extensive knowledge of IFRS.
