Our client, in the energy sector, requires a senior Corporate Accountant for a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will have extensive corporate accounting experience and hold a CPA designation.

Responsibilities :

• Assist with month-end and quarter-end activities in the corporate accounting department
• Account for compensation, including long-term incentive, severance, and vacation accruals
• Accounting for debt financing and cross-currency swap entries
• Involvement in merger and acquisition, divestiture analysis, and accounting
• Monthly and quarterly variance analysis
• Account reconciliations - preparation and peer review
• Review and mentorship of junior staff
• Process improvements and efficiencies, along with ad hoc requirements

Job Requirements :

• CPA designation with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience
• SAP experience or exposure to other large ERP systems
• Corporate accounting knowledge and best practices
• Strong knowledge of IFRS
• Strong communication skills
