What you'll be doing

You will be joining CIBC’s Shared Platform Technology (SPT) as a Senior Consultant, Governance in the Enterprise Customer Information Services Team. We are looking for a knowledgeable and collaborative Technology Audit Consultant to act as a key liaison between our department and the Internal Audit team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in banking technologies, a strong grasp of emerging trends, and the ability to work effectively across stakeholders to support audit readiness, control improvement, and risk mitigation.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Audit Collaboration- Partner with internal audit teams to plan and execute technology-focused audits within ECIS.
  • Stakeholder Engagement- Work closely with development teams, DevOps, PMO, and Quality Assurance, to assess new initiatives and system changes.
  • Technical Translation- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-relevant insights for auditors and management.
  • Control Evaluation- Assist in evaluating IT controls, automated controls, change management, cybersecurity practices, and technology governance.
  • Liaison Role- Serve as a primary contact between audit and technology teams to build trust, enable transparency, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Awareness- Stay informed on regulatory developments and technology trends impacting the banking industry (e.g., Basel II, GDPR).
  • Audit Facilitation- Coordinate and facilitate audit engagements, including walkthroughs, evidence gathering, and remediation planning.
  • Continuous Learning- Stay current on technology trends, industry best practices, and emerging risks in banking technology.

Who You Are

  • You demonstrate 8-10 years' experience. In technical expertise and strong understanding of banking technology environments, including core banking platforms, digital channels, payment systems, cloud infrastructure, and information security. It is an asset to have Technology Audit experience working directly with internal / external auditors or regulatory examiners.
