Job description

Position: Sr. Construction Inspector - Roadway/Pavement

Location: San Francisco, CA (Work Location: Anchorage, AK)

Requirements: Must be a US Citizen, pass federal background review, and drug screening

Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing to ensure quality workmanship per contract, plans, and specifications.
  2. Support and perform three-phase inspection system.
  3. Document daily activities with detailed QA reports.
  4. Review and analyze construction contractor progress.
  5. Ensure safety compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards.
  6. Review design documents, log comments, verify as-built drawings.
  7. Assess and verify contractor payment requests.
  8. Review daily reports and project schedule adherence.
  9. Maintain Inspector's Site Inspection Reports.
  10. Assist with RFI responses, change orders, and modifications.
  11. Participate in pre-final and final inspections, prepare punch-lists, and verify corrections before final payment.

Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience, especially in airfield or roadway projects.
  2. Or, an Associate Degree or Technical Training Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  3. Or, a Bachelor of Science Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  4. Paving Inspector Certification from the Asphalt Institute required within 30 days of start.
  5. Experience with RMS 3.0 preferred.
  6. Knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and safety regulations.
  7. Experience with quality assurance, submittal review, contractor pay validation, and daily reporting.
  8. Experience with Federal Construction projects, especially US Army Corps of Engineers, preferred.
  9. Professional presentation, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail are essential.
