What does a Tactical Security Guard do in Edmonton?

1. Patrol and monitor high-risk areas such as shopping malls, healthcare facilities, construction sites, or event venues.
2. Address disputes or confrontations with professionalism and attempt to de-escalate tense situations.
3. Act as the first responder to incidents such as medical emergencies, fires, or security breaches.
4. Write detailed reports on incidents, activities, and observations during shifts.
5. Enforce site-specific rules, such as access control, ID verification, and restricted areas.
6. Assist Law Enforcers or emergency responders during arrests or investigations.
7. Use security cameras, access control systems, and other surveillance tools to identify and address suspicious activities.
8. Conduct regular patrols (on foot or in a vehicle) to ensure the site is secure.
9. Interact with clients, employees, and the public in a professional manner.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience for a Tactical Security Guard in Edmonton

1. Ability to handle tense situations calmly and professionally.
2. Clear verbal and written communication for incident reporting and interactions with the public.
3. Ability to identify suspicious activities or potential risks.
4. Valid provincial security guard license.
5. High school diploma or equivalent.
6. Criminal justice or police foundations diploma is an asset.
7. First aid and CPR certification is an asset.
8. Minimum 2 years of Tactical security guard experience.
9. Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
