What you will be doing:
  • Lead and oversee assurance and advisory engagements for private entities clients across a variety of industries.
  • Strategically manage audit risk, timelines, and deliverables across multiple engagements.
  • Review and sign off on financial statements.
  • Partner with firm leadership on client acquisition, retention, and expansion opportunities.
  • Actively contribute to thought leadership and continuous improvement within the assurance practice.
  • Coach and mentor Managers, Senior Associates, and junior staff, fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture.
  • Represent Smythe in external networks and professional communities.
What you must have:
  • CPA, CA designation with a minimum of 7+ years in public practice, including 3+ years in a management capacity focused on private companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex engagements with attention to quality, deadlines, and regulatory compliance.
  • Deep technical expertise in private entities reporting (ASPE) and assurance standards.
  • Understanding of taxation systems in Canada.
  • Proven business development and client relationship management skills.
  • Passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — trusted advisor to both clients and colleagues.
  • A growth-oriented mindset and ability to navigate change in a fast-paced environment.
Salary/Rate Range

Salary/Rate Range: $120,000.00 – $145,000.00
