Compensation Details

  • Business Development 16 : Salaries typically range from $72,840 to $97,121 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location :

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
  • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team & Job Overview

The Canadian Corporate Business (CCB) Group is looking for a Sr. Associate in our Ottawa office, reporting to the Director of the Canadian Corporate Sectors of the Future (CCSF) team. CCB manages EDC’s largest and most globally active Canadian corporate exporters, leveraging EDC to serve clients expanding globally with international financing and insurance solutions. The role supports GADs in meeting client needs and liaising with virtual teams of specialists to develop and expand client relationships.

As a Senior Associate, you will support strategic initiatives, learn about EDC products and services, work with experienced staff, and develop professional networks. We offer a collaborative environment for career growth and impact.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Account Management / Relationship Management
  • Support GADs in onboarding and managing client portfolios and prospects
  • Act as a liaison with internal teams and stakeholders
  • Participate in client meetings and outreach
  • Develop Account Plans and strategies

Transaction Management

  • Coordinate resources throughout transaction lifecycle
  • Monitor pipeline and facilitate transactions
  • Resolve client issues effectively

Strategy and Operations

  • Maintain knowledge of clients’ industries
  • Update business results and forecasts
  • Collaborate on strategic activities and reporting

Prospecting

  • Support requests from large segment companies
  • Prepare materials for prospecting initiatives

What We Are Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance or Commerce, with basic financial literacy
  • Minimum 3 years of business development experience, focusing on international finance and risk management
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and with virtual teams
  • Located in Ottawa

What Will Make You Stand Out

Eligibility
