About This Role:

TD Securities Payments Workflow Technology team is looking for an application engineer to implement solutions in alignment with the firm’s technology strategy. The team is responsible for providing technology solutions around the Payments distributed workflow applications.

An Application Engineer with experience in real-time event-driven systems, Java/Javascript/Typescript development, Databases, and Application Integration with knowledge of JMS, REST, XML, SQL is best suited for this role. Working knowledge of Agile methodology and DevOps principles is a must. Familiarity with NoSQL datastores and implementation in Azure will be useful.

We are looking for someone to participate in the creation of comprehensive end-to-end detailed solutions with overall accountability for the technical design and delivery of the system.

Responsibilities:

• Involved in planning, analysis, design, coding, consulting & implementation on a variety of projects.
• Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to other developers.
• Contribute to architecture design decisions and best practices for the team.
• Perform analysis, design, programming, and testing based on SDLC methodology.
• Analyze and resolve issues/tasks independently.
• Work closely with Project Manager and Business System Analyst to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews.
• Evaluate new technologies to ensure currency and relevance of the solutions.

Job Requirements:

What can you bring to TD?

• University or Post-Graduate Degree.
• Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering).
• At least 5 years’ experience with substantial project work in software development.
• Strong knowledge in Spring related frameworks and Java 8.
• Ability to work independently under minimal guidance.
• Capacity to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions.
