Job summary

Government of Alberta is seeking a Sr. Application Architect to guide the definition and governance of the application architecture across ministries. The role focuses on implementing architecture to deliver measurable benefits and secure, scalable platform solutions.

You will lead solution architecture for large projects with system integrations, and coordinate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment with business goals and security standards.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in developing and maintaining system design and Enterprise Architecture domains: Business, Application, Data, Technology, and security.
• 6 years of Experience in leading solution architecture and introducing the overall technical vision for large-scale Enterprise projects with integrations between systems.
• 8 years of Experience in planning, designing, implementing and supporting platform solutions in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
• 6 years of Experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels.
• 6 years of Experience with enterprise architectures, and all associated best practices, methods, standards, tools, policies and processes.
• 6 years of experience working as an application architect designing or maintaining solutions that use development stack and derivative technologies ( Microsoft .Net, Java, Python etc.) with an organization equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
• 6 years of Experience working as an application architect in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.

Responsibilities

• Ensure alignment of functional and IMT strategic objectives with the architecture.

Sr. Application Architect - GOAPRDJP00000694 7000 - 113 ST, Edmonton Remote - must be available for onsite meetings when required. (In the event of an on-site meeting, the GoA does not pay for travel to attend on-site meetings, nor any expenses)

Contract 6 months

Enhanced Security Clearance will be required for this position (must get before start date)

• 5 years of experience in implementing and supporting an application framework in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta
• 5 years of experience providing leadership, planning, estimating, and presentations of ideas and solutions
• 0.5 years of experience with cloud-native software development
• 1 year of experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. The Open Group Architecture Framework ( TOGAF ), Gartner or Zachman .)
