Position Overview: De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited has been undergoing tremendous growth and is looking to add a Sr. AP Process Improvement Specialist to review existing AP processes and work closely with the AP Manager to make various recommendations that will increase the efficiency of the AP function. The position will be responsible for reviewing solutions and working with the AP team members to implement new processes, modify existing processes, and then update standard operating procedures, policies, and processes. The position is based in Calgary, AB and is a one-year contract position.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Functional AP expert with experience to review existing processes and make recommendations to improve and refine those processes.
  2. Develop standardized process improvement plans that will identify, analyze, and close gaps in the existing end-to-end AP process.
  3. Support the design, implementation, and management of process improvements to deliver savings and improve department effectiveness that will align with key strategic initiatives and foster continuous improvement.
  4. Assist with the evaluation and implementation of software solutions that could help the team.
  5. Identify training and skills development opportunities for existing staff.
  6. Work with business functions across the organization to analyze existing processes, systems, and operational challenges.
  7. Review internal controls to ensure that the company’s financial transactions are recorded accurately and that its assets are safeguarded.
Skills and Experience
  1. Extensive AP experience with 3-5 years of process improvement/process automation experience within the AP function.
  2. Proven success in achieving results.
  3. Technical proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  4. Ability to learn new applications quickly.
  5. Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  6. Demonstrated leadership experience (formal or informal).
  7. Team player with proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sensitive time-critical competing priorities.
