As the Senior Tax Analyst, you will be a member of our tax department of over 40 people globally where you will work closely with our multinational team as well as senior executives. This role is primarily based out of our downtown Toronto head office, with potential for occasional travel to our international locations. You will be a key member of the tax compliance team working on global tax compliance, provision, and modeling. Our ideal candidate will be looking to grow in their role and will be excited by the opportunity to learn and develop their knowledge of Canadian, U.S. and international taxes as well as model impacts of tax strategies and legislative changes.
A Day in the Life
Assist in the preparation of the following income tax related items;
Monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions
Annual income tax returns
Income tax instalments schedules
Income tax true-ups
Review of notices of assessment or reassessment
Assist in preparing responses to inquiries for federal and provincial/state income tax audits
Collaborate with internal team in preparing CbCR, T106 and T1134 information returns
Communicate with external auditors on the consolidated year-end and quarterly tax provision calculation and related disclosures
Assist in identifying areas for process improvements and collaborate on various automation of tax processes and ongoing efforts to streamline operations
Document treatment of significant tax accounting matters, tax related internal controls and accounting policies and procedures
Preparation of consolidated forecasts of income tax expense, cash taxes and effective income tax rates to support internal and external reporting functions
Involvement in various other ad hoc matters
Requirements
CPA with 1-3 years of Canadian income tax experience (US/international tax experience is an asset)
Enrollment / partial completion of the CPA In-depth Tax course
Highly skilled in tax technology with an emphasis on Excel, Power Query and SQL
Strong team player to work collaboratively with other tax and Finance teams
Willing to learn and provide support on tax matters relating to other jurisdictions outside of Canada
The hiring base salary range for this position is $76,300 to $104,900 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
