About The Role
Managing costing while working closely with GIS PD/PC, Raw Material, Wash Tech, Brand, counterparts, and vendor merchandising teams. As part of the Costing Excellence team, s/he will also support identifying opportunities for cost saving through product reengineering, cost standardization, building up the costing library, and supporting any cost-related initiatives for the company.
What You'll Do
- Simplify the entire costing process and establish transparent costing with suppliers.
- Support in setting up business allocation decisions based on product-based supply chain.
- Improve AUC margin expectations through product strategy, man-machine ratio, factory efficiency, labor cost, and material optimization to deliver value to the consumer.
- Establish and update costing frameworks, standards, and tools for transparent, fact-based costing with suppliers.
- Develop training materials for internal staff and external vendors/factories.
- Establish governance for cost validation through standardization and benchmarking.
- Create factory-level and country-level cost competitive matrices and develop new training tools and materials.
- Resolve issues promptly, continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Review targets and create pathways to meet them via product re-engineering while maintaining aesthetics.
- Review vendor costings and validate components using benchmarks or reference programs.
- Create markers independently to validate garment consumptions.
- Work with SMV Data to finalize garment costing.
- Maintain relationships and negotiate fact-based with vendors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product cost.
- Support problem solving, information sharing, and sourcing strategies.
Who You Are
- 4-6 years of experience in managing end-to-end costing or sampling, e.g., Production Merchandiser.
- Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing and sourcing, market trends.
- Understanding of Gap Inc. CoBC protocols.
- Knowledge of PMTS tools and marker making is advantageous.
- Deep understanding of product cost drivers.
- Excellent communication skills in English; local language is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, risk management, troubleshooting skills; proactive work approach.
- Ability to influence at all levels of internal and external management.
- Leadership skills in supervision, training, staff development.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and reporting skills.
- Degree in Fashion Technology, Textile, or equivalent experience, e.g., B.F.Tech from NIFT.
