Join our talented and growing team! We are seeking a Sr Analyst, Model Development & Validation, reporting to the Manager, Model Validation.

In this role, you will manage the end-to-end model lifecycle, including development, validation, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of credit risk scoring models. The ideal candidate will have experience in building predictive models using statistical methods like logistic regression and machine learning, validating models to mitigate risks, and strong data manipulation skills in SAS & SQL.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and validate risk management & marketing models using techniques like Decision Trees, Logistic Regression, and Machine Learning algorithms.
  • Support operational model deployment ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in model validation to identify and mitigate risks, providing expertise and recommending solutions.
  • Discuss validation outcomes with stakeholders and implement necessary changes.
  • Maintain ongoing model monitoring processes.
  • Prepare documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with external partners to meet data and analytic needs.
  • Stay updated on new modeling techniques and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and data-driven insights to management.
  • Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences using visualization tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years in analytics and predictive modeling in financial services, especially Credit Risk Analytics, with 2+ years in SAS and SQL.
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, actuarial sciences, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Understanding of credit risk model development, validation, and monitoring.
  • Strong data manipulation skills in SAS and SQL.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques (regression, Bagging & Boosting, clustering).
  • Experience with large databases, data mining, and warehousing.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Access or similar database software.
  • Understanding of financial products and risk management tools.
  • Experience with loss forecasting models (e.g., IFRS9, Basel) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AWS data science tools or Altair Knowledge Studio is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability.
