GA COO is responsible for setting and executing GA's non-investment decision strategy and operations, and ensures a consistent and efficient approach to shared operational activities and concerns within GA.

This role is ideal for a team player who is highly motivated and would like to participate in a variety of projects within the GA COO and learn more about the General Account Investments division. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop critical and transferable skills: quantitative, communication, systems, programming, and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support process improvements, automation and workflow enhancements to streamline existing portfolio analytics solutions
  • Support the development and implementation of new analytical tools and systems
  • Create and analyze detailed portfolio and segment performance reports for various business units globally
  • Work closely with various investment teams to analyze and monitor asset positions relative to the target benchmarks
  • Collaborate with various GA groups to analyze and implement investment strategies in the in-house portfolio management systems
  • Develop expertise in our proprietary in-house GA systems and assist with daily operational inquiries
  • Work with the GPAG and IT teams to enhance the in-house tool features and implement improvements to existing processes
  • Build and enhance analytics dashboards and reporting tools using MS Power BI, MS Fabric and MS Excel to support investment and business needs
  • Work collaboratively with various GA stakeholders, building and leveraging relationships by understanding their issues and challenges
  • Assist in additional projects and fulfill ad-hoc requests as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science or a related field. A master’s degree or CFA designation is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in portfolio analytics, investment management, or a related field
  • Understanding of the investment process and related operations of General Account Investments, including relevant constraints and objectives
  • Experience and exposure to various asset classes - publics, real estate, private equity, infrastructure, private placements, commercial mortgages etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis
  • Process and result-oriented with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal with multiple stakeholders from different backgrounds at the same time
  • Proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively with team members
  • Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize, work under tight timelines and manage multiple stakeholders

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in portfolio management tools (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Aladdin, Charles River, etc)
  • Proficiency in MS Power BI for data visualization and reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of VBA for automation and process improvement
  • Strong SQL skills for database management and querying
