Job Summary :

The Plan Operations Analytics Group at HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) seeks an experienced individual for a permanent, full-time Senior Data Scientist role within the Analytics Team. The team delivers insights, analytics, reporting, data governance, and data warehouse expertise.

Our principles focus on delivering stakeholder value in a dynamic environment, valuing challenging the status quo, innovative solutions, teamwork, and practicality.

What you will do : Business Delivery

  • Lead project delivery and collaborate with stakeholders to meet objectives while aligning with Pension Operations goals.
  • Develop and evolve analytics product vision and roadmap, including evaluating analytics tools.
  • Identify, specify, and refine analytics requirements, expanding the data dictionary.
  • Prioritize requirements, manage backlogs, and communicate progress.
  • Triages and prioritizes business needs, requests, and projects.
  • Advocate for the business, articulating its vision and securing buy-in.
  • Oversee solution development, evaluate progress, and recommend deliverables.
  • Ensure clear communication of objectives and outcomes to stakeholders.

Strategic Analytics

  • Provide forecasts, projections, and operational reporting to management.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports, extracting data from sources like data warehouses.
  • Develop expertise in data and perform in-depth analysis to gather insights.
  • Support analytics needs across HOOPP, including database structuring and query drafting.
  • Apply machine learning techniques and algorithms such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, and Decision Forests.
  • Utilize data science tools like R, Weka, NumPy, and MATLAB, with proficiency in at least one.
  • Communicate statistical analysis clearly, translating large datasets into actionable insights.
  • Integrate multiple data sources into solutions to meet current and future information needs.
  • Create and maintain analytics platforms.
