Job description

Our Thorold Regional Construction Team is seeking a motivated, organized, and analytical individual with proven problem-solving skills to join our team as a Sr. Analyst in Construction Project Management. Interested in this exciting opportunity?

This role is responsible for the overall planning, development, and delivery of projects, including analysis, design, technical specifications, and route selection for the regional pipe and growth portfolio. Projects range from managing basic residential gas service to leading complex projects such as new sales, district station replacements, subdivisions, main extensions, reinforcements, relocations, replacements, and headers.

What you will do :

  • Manage all project responsibilities, including cost estimation, partner management, and cost control. Ensure timely communication of pressure and flow parameters for design, costing, and station selection.
  • Serve as a key contact for field staff, providing accurate planning records, network analysis, affected customer data, system isolation info, and other distribution planning data during emergencies.
  • Develop and communicate mitigation strategies related to construction risks, demonstrating a solid understanding of the construction industry, operations, and maintenance.
  • Develop programs for prioritizing and justifying replacement of distribution assets to maintain system integrity, including developing and costing projects to meet budget targets.
  • Participate in Public Utility Coordinating Committee meetings to collaborate with utility and municipal managers, coordinate projects, minimize costs, and negotiate planning issues with partners.

Who You Are

Education and Experience :

  • Related university degree with 2 years of experience (Operations or Construction preferred), or
  • 4 years of related construction or operational training and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other qualifications include project management experience, understanding of distribution operations, strong communication skills, familiarity with Maximo, eGIS, Synergy, and planning documents, and knowledge of asset management systems and design specifications.

Must be adaptable to balancing priorities and deadlines across teams.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office and field work (approximately 80/20 split).
  • Valid G class driver’s license required; occasional regional travel.
  • Participation in emergency on-call rotations is required.
